I use this in the morning for my coffee and the evening for my wine. 99.9% of the time it keeps flies away from my glass if I place it right under the blades; the occasional brave soul will sneak in but it's only happened a couple of times.I knocked of a star because of the reviews that claim the whirling blades scares swarms of flies away from an entire table. Although I don't have "swarms" of flies I can attest that it does not; flies continue to buzz past land on other parts of the table. That's when an old-fashioned fly swatter comes in handy.But bottom line, it makes imbibing outdoors much more pleasant.

For power sources, you can use two AA batteries or use the USB plug, and supply our own power source. I plugged the USB plug into a charging block. It would be nice if this fan had built-in rechargeable batteries and to recharge by any USB-C charger.
